PSL FINAL Post-MATCH 2019

Quetta Gladiators(QG) is the proud PSL HBL final of 2019 winner and many congratulation the ways they performed in this season.

Peshawar Zalmi(PZ) is the runner up team of HBL PSL 2019.

Where it went wrong for PZ?

 First as i said in post match blog that they need to have Misbah-ul-Haq in middle order. I said so because PZ batting line up was very weak at least in middle order they were struggling. Also I was worried about the opening pair as well because there were chances of there collapse which we saw today.

In 4th over both the opener were back in pavilion and Sohaib Maqsood and Umar Amin tried to control the match by staying at the crease but they could not move up the momentum so they economy rate was around 6 to 7 which was not that high so all pressure was on KA Pollard and DJG Sammy(c) and they also felt the pressure and at the end could perform well.When you have some one like KA Pollard and DJG Sammy down the order then you need to have a good middle order so that they can handle the situation in the middle overs. 

 In the bowling they did not selected any spinner which was a bad choice and you need to have a spinner on batting patches. You never know what those spinner will do and if they will not take wickets at least they can stop those boundries. There was nothing for the baller to do because the track was flat and there were not enough runs on the board.

How good was Quetta Gladiators?

They performed very well in all department and that is why they won this final and they deserved it. 

I am not a big fan of Sarfaraz Ahmed but he took good decision in changing there bowler and fielding and that is the reason they restrict PZ to a very low total at the end, which was easy to chase despite of PZ had the strong bowling bench.
Hasnain who was the man of the match winner at the end balled really well and so does the rest of his team mate.

HBL PSL Super League

I have just started this blog and I am just being able to talk about the final which will be played on Sunday,17th march 2019 at Karachi.

In qualifying round the table was

All the team played each other twice in the 1 round and If you look at the table you can see that PZ lost just 3 matches and guess what 2 times they faced QG and was defeated.
In Elimination round they (PZ) faced again QG and once again they were in the losing side. In PSL the top 2 team in the qualifying round had the advantage that the winner will go straight to the final but the loser team will have to face again the winner Team of Elimination-2 which was played between KK vs IU and IU won that match.
So PZ faced IU in elimination-3 and won that match quite easily. Now the question is ; Why they keep losing from QG in this season ?
The state of those 3 matches ( 2 matches played in qualification round and 1 in elimination round ) tell us that they have been out played by  Shane Watson and once Ahmed Shehzad.
The Strong point of QG is there opening pair so if PZ want to win the final they need to restrict QG opening pair and try to take there wicket as earlier as possible to build pressure in the middle order.
QG have a long batting line up but the potential to hit big scores are in few players. As QG have a good bowling line up with some good track record.
Also if PZ want to win this match I think they need to put back in Misbah-ul-Haq in place of Sohaib Maqsood to strengthen there middle order and also give freedom to there opening pair to go and hit so they can have high score in the powerplay.
In the bowling department of PZ I don't think they have to do any changes as there bowler are always being right on the top. All they need is a few wickets from Hasan Ali in his start spell of the match which he did many times in this season of HBL PSL.

As QG will also be looking to win this time as they lost there last year HBL PSL 2018 in Lahore Pakistan from PZ, but is also because that at that time QG main foreign player didn't participated in the final match so QG have to select few other players at the last moment and that maybe one of the reason they lost that time.

QG have to break the opening partnership of PZ because both the opener are in form and in the last 2 or 3 matches there partnership was the reason PZ put a big total on the board. To win this match QG have to keep taking wickets because If PZ didn't lose wicket early on, even with low economy rate, there lower order in which Kieron Pollard and Darren Sammy are 2 big gun who does not need too many balls to move the economy rate in the sky.

With both the team having good balance wishing both the Team good luck and hope we can have an entertaining night tomorrow.
